REGISTER YOUR RETIRED POLICE DOG WITH THIN BLUE PAW

Eligibility criteria for registering your retired police dog with the Thin Blue Paw Foundation:
  • The dog must be registered with the foundation and approved by the board of trustees before a claim for financial support can be made.
  • Dog must have been a licensed police dog within the United Kingdom and served for two or more years operationally from initial licence. 
  • Retired police dogs who have served two years or less operationally due to unsuitability will not be eligible for support. 
  • Stud dogs or brood bitches are not be eligible for registration unless they have served operationally as a police dog within the United Kingdom for two or more years.
  • Serving police dogs are not eligible to be registered with the foundation.
  • Retired police wellbeing and trauma support dogs are not eligible to be registered with the foundation.
  • Retired police dogs owned by any Thin Blue Paw Foundation trustee will not be eligible for financial assistance in line with charity commission guidance, but may still be registered with the foundation.
  • The foundation is unable to cover every day care costs for example food, flea/tick treatment, annual booster vacations, leads, collars etc.
  • Registration with the foundation is free of charge, including the ability to make an application for financial support.
Our board of trustees reserve the right to amend the above eligibility criteria without prior notice.
