A couple completed a gruelling cycling challenge during hot weather to raise more than £1,500 for our work.
Chloe Probert, 28, and Jake Robinson, 25, who both work in the Metropolitan Police, took on the 55-mile London to Brighton Cycle Ride on 21 June.
Chloe said: “It was a hot, sweaty day but we managed to complete it in four hours 10 minutes, a little over our goal but taking the weather into account, we’re happy.
“We’re both glad to have completed it and for such a worthy cause.”
The couple live in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, with their dog, Marmaduke.
The officers were inspired to raise money for the Foundation after working alongside police dogs in their day jobs.
Chloe said: “We’ve always been reliant on the police dogs to help us, and the work they do is phenomenal.
“We signed up to the London to Brighton bike ride to raise money for the Thin Blue Paw because we’re tired of police dogs putting their lives on the line, helping us day in and day out, and not being rewarded enough.
“Our jobs would be much harder without the dog section and we feel this is our chance to give something back.”
Founder Kieran Stanbridge said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to Chloe and Jake for their commitment to this challenge and congratulations for completing it and raising three time their original target to help us continue out work.”
