We are incredibly grateful to No 1 CopperPot for generously donating £10,000, which will help us in our vital work supporting retired police dogs.
The credit union – which has over 50,000 police officers registered – provides a community bank and financial services to the police family. It has chosen our Foundation as its charitable partner.
Our founder Kieran Stanbridge said: “We’re so proud to be working alongside No 1 CopperPot to help provide support to police dogs when they step down from service and finally get to put their paws up at home.
“We’re incredibly grateful to No 1 CopperPot which has chosen us as one of its charity partners and has made a very generous £10,000 donation to the Foundation, making a real difference to the dogs within our police family.”
To celebrate, the CopperPot team met with German Shepherd Riley, who served as a general purpose dog with the Metropolitan Police and Derbyshire Constabulary before retiring in 2022.
He was adopted by fellow police officer, Sgt Scott Riley, but fell seriously ill in December 2025 after a patch of dry skin on his elbow got infected and turned septic.
Riley was left fighting for his life and Scott, unsure what to do, turned to our Foundation for help. We provided advice, liaised with vets, and offered to pay the £7,000 bill for treatment.
Riley is now home and recovering well.

Friends of No 1 CopperPot is an association offering a monthly prize draw exclusively for members.
Friends Chair Paul Kelly said: “We’re really pleased to be able to support the Thin Blue Paw Foundation. The Prize Draw committee are all ex-cops so we understand the importance of dogs within the force.
“It’s great to see charities like this looking after both serving and retired dogs when they need help most.”
Members can buy tickets each month at £1 a go and the money raised through the draw is distributed as monthly prizes for members as well as donations to police family causes, and supports the development of the union.
