We’d like to thank a Police Scotland Special Constable who has raised £500 to support our retired police dogs by designing and selling a special challenge coin.
The coin – featuring our logo and one of our retired police dogs, Luna – was inspired by the former Police Scotland dog, who was named winner of our Lifesaver Award.
Danny McKerral, 58, from Dalkeith, who lives with his wife Leigh-Ann and two dogs, Delta and Amber, said: “I know Luna and her owner, Linda (pictured below) from working together in the past and when I learned that all of Linda’s retired dogs are supported by the Thin Blue Paw I felt I wanted to help.”
Danny – a Special Constable of 24 years who has recently been based at Edinburgh Airport – has sold over 100 coins, raising almost £500.
Founder Kieran Stanbridge said: “The challenge coins look so smart and we’re really pleased they’ve sold so well and raised hundreds of pounds for the charity.
“We’re really grateful to Danny, Linda and Luna for their efforts to raise funds for the Foundation.
“It’s thanks to people like them that we’re able to serve as a lifeline for these canine heroes when they need us the most.”
