HOW WE’VE HELPED RETIRED POLICE DOG AMBER IN RETIREMENT
RPD Amber worked as a police forensic search dog with Northumbria Police from 2010, when she joined at just nine-weeks-old.
She was deployed locally and across the country on high-profile operations and, in 2014, won Police Dog Operational and Humanitarian Action of the Year Award at Crufts.
She retired from service in 2020 and adopted by her former handler and his family.
Owner Louise said she enjoyed spending her retirement with her best doggy pals Coppa and George sunbathing in the garden and chasing tennis balls.

Amber suffered from spinal problems and the Foundation helped pay for regular pain relief injections.
Sadly, Amber passed away in October 2024 at the age of 14.
Louise added: “She was such a sweet girl and we are really grateful for the support we received for her from the Foundation.”
