RPD Max worked as an explosive search and detection dog.
He served Sussex Police for seven years, spending his whole career based at Gatwick Airport. The 11-year-old retired in 2021.
He was adopted by Debbie King, who said: “He is the most affectionate dog and just loves attention and cuddles.”
The Foundation covered the £580 bill when Max needed to have a lump removed from his neck.
