FIND OUT MORE ABOUT RETIRED POLICE DOG BUDDY
RPD Buddy trained as a search and detection dog for cash, drugs, firearms and ammunition.
He served with Alan McDiarmid as part of the North Wales Police Special Branch, stationed at Holyhead Port.
Alan said: “Due to the geographical location of Holyhead Port, local divisional police regularly called upon port dogs to assist in the execution of drug warrants, and this is where Buddy had several good finds.”
Buddy served for four years and retired, with Alan, in 2018.

Now, aged 11, he’s in good health, ‘albeit a bit slower and carrying a few extra pounds than he used to!’ Alan said.
“Buddy now spends his days wandering with me around the village where we live and he loves Monday Mutt nights at our local pub!” Alan added.
“He’s a bit of a local celebrity as he’s the only dog who goes everywhere off the lead.
“He shares his home with two cats and gets on well with both. He’s an old gent; placid and steady as ever. He’s just living his best life.”

“We registered with the Thin Blue Paw some years back but haven’t had to use the services yet – touch wood!“
