FIND OUT MORE ABOUT RETIRED POLICE DOG GOOSE
RPD Goose was bred by West Midlands Police and paired with her handler at one to work as a general purpose dog for four years.
Sophie Adams adopted her when she retired, aged five, after losing her drive and developing some anxieties.
She said: “Goose was very barky which is why we call her ‘gobby’; it used to scare people.
“She found lots of prisoners in her time and even had a few bites but finding property was her speciality!”

Goose – named after the Top Gun pilot – is now seven and enjoys helping to show young West Midlands Police puppies the ropes when they’re training to become police dogs.
Sophie added: “Goose is ball-obsessed and will play fetch with anything! She is a happy girl who is now living her best sofa life.”
Sophie, who helps with trainee police dogs, said Goose helps build their confidence and teaches them how to socialise.

“Goose’s health is fabulous, thankfully. She has supplements after the Foundation paid for her foot check-up.”
