FIND OUT MORE ABOUT RETIRED POLICE DOG HOPI
RPD Hopi was Helen Kent’s first general purpose dog when she joined the Ministry of Defence Police in Scotland, in 2015. Hopi was bred in Hungary.
Helen said: “Hopi was a tenacious worker and adored bite work. I achieved a lot of training aspirations with her and learned a lot.
“She was home kennelled with me for most of her career as unfortunately central kennels did nothing for her stress levels!

“She lived with fellow PD Rico – who we sadly lost last May – and her civvy border collie brother, Jack, and a cat.”
Hopi retired in 2022 and now enjoys living alongside her three-year-old human sister and explosives search dog PD Huxley.
Helen added: “She has her challenges; she is extremely dog reactive out and about and has the German Shepherd trait of barging everything and anything out of the way to fit herself into any little space! But she has done me proud and has adapted well to all of life’s changes!”

“RPD Hopi is supported by yourselves by way of the fantastic scheme [free food] set up with Barking Heads.“
Helen, Hopi’s previous handler and owner
