MORE ABOUT RETIRED POLICE DOG LILLY
RPD Lilly worked for the Ministry of Defence Police for six years at an atomics weapons establishment and naval base until she retired in 2022 for medical reasons after needing surgery on her cruciate ligament.
She was handler Laura Booth’s first police dog so when she retired Laura knew she’d be coming home with her.
Eleven-year-old Lilly spent her retirement trying to relax at home in Cornwall with Laura, her two children, and three other police dogs.

When Lilly fell ill in March 2023 with infected anal glands, we covered the £500 bill for her treatment followed by monthly pain-relief injections for arthritis.
Laura said: “The Thin Blue Paw’s support has been invaluable, especially during the current financial climate. We cannot thank you enough.”
In December 2024 Lilly was struggling to stand when Laura noticed a large lump by her tail. Vets put her on medication but it worsened and tests showed it was an aggressive form of cancer so, sadly, she was put to sleep.

IN MEMORY OF
RPD LILLY 2013-2024
“Lilly was my first police dog, she was feisty with a fantastic personality and a great companion. My four-year-old daughter keeps asking for her Lils back, and I still can’t quite comprehend that she’s gone. We all miss her so much.” – Laura
