HOW WE’VE HELPED RETIRED POLICE DOG MIKO IN RETIREMENT

RPD Miko worked with Norfolk Constabulary for more than eight years as a general purpose dog, until retiring at Christmas in 2021.

Senior forensic nurse Jodie Proctor – who worked with the force and found out Miko was looking for a new home – adopted him just a month later.

Miko was sadly suffering from pain in his back legs and vets suggested hydrotherapy to help.

Jodie added: “I heard about the Thin Blue Paw through a colleague and instantly enquired. I asked for help with his hydrotherapy costs and they agreed.

“Hydrotherapy helped him so much; it made him happier in himself and gave him a much better quality of life.

“I wouldn’t have been able to financially support this treatment so the Thin Blue Paw enabled him to have a better quality of life.

“I cannot thank the Thin Blue Paw enough for the support they gave to Miko. We will be forever grateful and long-term supporters of your wonderful charity.”

Sadly, Miko passed away in 2024 at the age of 10.
