RPD Redd

RPD Redd joined Northamptonshire Police in 2014 having been bred for the job by the West Midlands Police breeding programme.

She was matched with handler PC Sam Clark and the two excelled and, within just a few months, received a Superintendent’s Commendation in recognition of outstanding service and for demonstrating bravery, courage, determination and professionalism, as well as a bravery award at the British Association for Women in Policing Awards.

PC Clark said: “Redd was an incredible search dog and was brilliant at her job. It was a true honour to be recognised by these awards and I was so proud of having her by my side.”

Sadly, PD Redd had to retire just three years into her career after being diagnosed with hip dysplasia. We cover the cost of her daily medication to manage the condition.  

PC Clark added: “As my first police dog we have a bond like no other and I couldn’t bear to part with her when she hung her police collar and lead up. She’s now enjoying putting her paws up and relaxing however loves having adventures in the woods too.”
