HOW WE HELPED RETIRED POLICE DOG REGGIE IN RETIREMENT
RPD Reggie worked as a search and detection dog with Cheshire Police – as part of the Cheshire and North Wales Dog Alliance, between 2014 and 2021.
He was trained to be a passive drugs dog and then upskilled to become a cash, drugs and firearms detection dog later on, and had a successful career.
Reggie retired after seven years of service and was adopted by his handler, PC Mark Rendell.

Mark turned to the Foundation for support after taking on the responsibility of Reggie’s care costs. We helped with the bill when he cut his chest and it became infected, causing him to fall ill.
Mark said: “Reggie is our much-loved dog. He now enjoys a slower pace of life as our pet and we wouldn’t be without him.
“The Thin Blue Paw kindly covered the costs for his treatment which we are very grateful for.”

“We’re very grateful to the Thin Blue Paw for covering the costs of Reggie’s treatment when he fell ill.”
Mark, Reggie’s former handler and owner
