FIND OUT MORE ABOUT RETIRED POLICE DOG TYCO
RPD Tyco served with the RAF Police as a patrol dog until retiring in 2023. He was one of only two dogs to be dual-disciplined and was also trained as an arms and explosives search dog.
Belgian Malinois Tyco, 11, served at a number of sites including RAF Benson in Oxfordshire – where he finished his career – as well as the RAF’s High Readiness Dog Unit, at Henlow, in Bedfordshire.
His owner Beckie Faulds said: “Tyco did some training with the US military in an American water park and had to be winched out of a Black Hawk helicopter!

“Now his life is much quieter and he lives with me and my partner – his former handler – at home. We both serve in the RAF Police and also have his little sister, spaniel Peg, a retired search and detection dog.”
Tyco loves playing fetch and carrying his stuffed toys everywhere, but working as a military dog has left him with arthritis and severe joint pain.
Beckie said: “His life as a military dog has been hard on his body and he now needs regular injections for which the Foundation helps support me in ensuring he can enjoy his retirement as pain-free as possible.”

“Thank you to the Thin Blue Paw Foundation for all the help and support I’ve received for this wonderful boy.“
Beckie, Tyco’s owner
