FIND OUT MORE ABOUT RETIRED POLICE DOG PEARL
RPD Pearl joined Humberside Police in 2021 and licensed as an explosives search and detection dog.
She was paired with PC Neil Walker and his general purpose dog, Tom, and together they ‘excelled’.
Neil said: “Pearl embarked on an illustrious career keeping the general public safe at some very high-profile events including the late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, King Charles III’s Coronation and the 2023 Olympic Games in Paris.”
When Neil retired, Pearl and Tom both retired alongside him, and the trio are now enjoying the quiet life together.

Neil said: “Pearl has taken well to retirement and, thankfully, remains fit and healthy.
“She enjoys playing with her best mate, RPD Tom, and loves long walks on the beach.
“I was keen to register both dogs with Thin Blue Paw because of my relationship with fellow officer, who owns RPD Neo, who has been supported by the Foundation.
“I am also impressed and grateful to the charity for its work to promote the deserved recognition and welfare of police dogs in their retirement.”

“I wish the Foundation every success in the future as, without it, sadly, some of the dogs who serve us with such loyalty may not get the retirement they richly deserve.“
