FIND OUT MORE ABOUT RETIRED POLICE DOG TYSON
RPD Tyson was bred in Holland before joining the RAF Police at two as a search and detection dog.
His handler, Becky Greenfield, said: “Tyson was a motivated drugs detection dog. He was independent, agile, extremely obedient and driven.
“You could always hear him when he was working, the only way to describe it is like the sound of a Chinook!”
Tyson, now six, won many awards during his career including the Lady Kemball Trophy for Best Drugs Detection Team in 2022 and 2024, as well as the McConnell Cup Tropy for Obedience and Agility in 2022.

He retired due to health issues, including arthritis in his shoulder. He is also prone to bloat. He now lives with Becky and her other retired police dog, Max.
“You wouldn’t think it as he still acts like a puppy,” said Becky. “He loves nothing more than working for his Kong and cuddles; he’d lay on my all day if he could.
“He’s a water baby and absolutely loves the beach.
“I found out about the Thin Blue Paw after one of the team presented me and one of my previous dogs with a trophy. I realised I could register both dogs.”

“The Foundation is important to us because with pre-existing health issues they would both be expensive to insure. Registering with the Thin Blue Paw relieves a lot of stress.“
