FIND OUT MORE ABOUT RETIRED POLICE DOG ZEUS
RPD Zeus was 18-months-old when he was found as a stray and taken in by Lisburn Pound.
Police Service Northern Ireland found him and trained him as an explosives detection dog before he licensed in 2015.
His handler, Peter, said: “He was a natural from the start; focused, never distracted, independent, and always looking to please and get his reward.”

He worked until he was 10 when he retired, in 2025, to live with his handler, Peter, and his family.
Peter added: “Zeus is my third retired police dog to be registered with the Thin Blue Paw Foundation.
“My previous dogs, RPD Brodie and RPD Kipper, were also proud members of the Foundation.
“Zeus now spends his days laying around, relaxing with my family, but is still keen for tennis balls and never wants to miss out on a drive in the car with me!”

“The Foundation gives handlers and their families the time to enjoy their retired police dogs without the stress and financial strain that often comes with taking one on, especially with everything in life now being so expensive.“
