FIND OUT MORE ABOUT RETIRED POLICE DOG FLOYD

RPD Floyd worked as a general purpose dog with Nottinghamshire Police from 2016 to 2018.
He retired after just 18 months and went to live with his handler, James’ parents, Chris and Jane Bell, and their two Labradors, Luna and Enzo.
Jane said: “He adapted to retirement so very well and became firm friends with Luna and Enzo, even managing to form their very own ‘Neighbourhood watch’ team!
“Enzo had always idolised Floyd and they were the greatest of friends.”
“He enjoyed short strolls and loved to play; if he had his toys he was happy. The bond between him and James was incredible, he loved him so much.”
Tragically, Enzo died suddenly in December 2025 and Floyd struggled. He had adapted well after losing his sight but started to struggle with his mobility.
His health deteriorated and he died in James’ arms in January 2026, just five weeks after his friend, Enzo.
Jane added: “Floyd was the light of my life, he was the best dog and looked after my son.”
